Fatty Arbuckle was born in 1887. He started working in silent films in 1909. He became one of Hollywood's highest paid actors. Arbuckle was influential in launching the careers of Buster Keaton, Charlie Chaplin and Bob Hope.

If you would like to get in for free, just dress 1900s attire. Small popcorns will be sold for 5 cents with purchase of a "Fatty Arbuckle" ticket. A live baby grand piano score, written and performed by the amazing pianist Patti Liedecker, will accompany the short films.

The Rheem Film Club is your community source of information about upcoming Independent, Art, Foreign Film and events at The New Rheem and Orinda Theaters The RFC is open to all current and aspiring film afficianados who would like to support and promote this local cultural resource. Our communications will keep Club members up to date on the latest programming and upcoming events. Share our passion for originality, emotion, creativity, truly skilled film making and the arts so beautifully incorporated by Art, Foreign film and other art forms.

Remember: Studios decide where to rent their films by the number of tickets sold. The more tickets sold for the Art, Foreign and intellectually stimulating films and shown at the New Rheem and Orinda Theatres, the more selections available for all of us to see. The Orinda and Rheem Theatres are managed by the same managing company. The two theatres are treated as a sixplex. Derek Zemrak, the managing director of both theatres, has created a synergy that has brought tickets sales to their highest levels in many years.

See you at the movies
