Art Exhibit “Oscar’s Excellent Year” at the Lafayette Library

The City of Lafayette Public Art Committee welcomes its latest art exhibit “Oscar’s Excellent Year” featuring local artist, Joanne Taeuffer.

Information on the Exhibit

The exhibit is on display in the “Homework Center” at the Lafayette Library and Learning Center now through June.  The “Homework Center” is located inside the library and is accessible during regular library operating hours.

The artist comments:

“Our elegant black cat, Oscar Wild, is one of my favorite subjects to paint.  I did this series of twelve paintings representing a year in his, and my, life.”

Information on the Artist

Joanne Taeuffer has been “making art” for about fifteen years and is retired from a career in web publishing.  She works mainly in acrylic on canvas, but also enjoys drawing from the model and sculpting figures in clay.  Her painting subjects range from cats to people in everyday life, to animals, pickup trucks and barns in farms scenes inspired by her childhood.  Joanne shows her work regularly in the Bay Area in solo shows and also with her painting group, the Bay Area Studio Artists.  Please view more of Joanne’s art at
